We had another ultrasound last night because at our last one, Baby Girl wasn't giving us a profile shot and didn't give the tech a great look at the heart. Baby is beautiful and healthy and I'm even more excited to meet her now than I ever have been, if that's possible!
I know these photos mean more to me than they do to you, but I appreciate you indulging me and letting me post them anyway. She still doesn't have a name but we're working on it. We have 2 names in the running but D wants to read every page of the "girl" section of the baby name book before he'll decide anything. I feel like I've already told you all of this so I'm going to move on.
Here's Baby's profile - sternum is visible
Cute little foot.
She's turned a little bit away from us - you can kind of see the outline of her ear.
Really neat shot of the bones in her leg and foot
She's got her leg above her head and she's grabbing her heel.
Kinda creepy, kinda cute. She's facing us - you can see her eyes and nose...notice the chubby cheek. I love that! Fatten up, little one!
So, there she is. I spared you the shot that confirmed that she is indeed a girl. You're welcome.
After the ultrasound I had my prenatal appointment. At my last prenatal appointment, my doctor told me to start eating more snacks and not to only eat the main 3 meals. She said I hadn't gained weight since I got pregnant and she'd like for me to. After they weighed me, I walked in the room where D was sitting and I said "I gained...a lot". So when the doctor walked in, D told her "Well, she did well on the assignment you gave her. She gained weight." The doctor looked at my chart and said "My goodness! You did gain weight! You're like an overachiever!" Yeah, I gained 8 lbs in one month. AAAHHH! I'm not too worried about it - I'm glad the baby is healthy. I am trying to eat better, though.
I got the drink for my glucose screening at the end of March. I had a colonoscopy about a year and a half ago due to a lot of intestinal problems I was having and they made me drink this stuff called Golightly (at least that's what it sounds like - not sure how it's spelled) as a laxative the night before. I had about a gallon of this stuff to drink and it was the most disgusting thing I've ever put in my mouth in my life. I will never drink that stuff again - ever. Anyway, my doctor said this glucose stuff tastes kind of like that so you can imagine how excited I am to drink it.
Enough from me. Have a great Tuesday!

Oh no, no, no! GoLightly tastes nothing like the glucose syrup you drink before the glucose screening. I've done both. The glucose syrup tastes like a really, really, really thick Hawaiian Punch.
Don't get me wrong, the glucose syrup is gross. The first sip you'll think, 'Oh this isn't so bad.' Then after about three sips in, you'll wonder if you'll be able to get it all down. It's SO sweet and thick.
There is no nasty saline-like aftertaste with the glucose stuff like there is with GoLightly.
If there is, you can hold a grudge against me for misleading you.*
*Disclaimer: This is all based on the glucose drink I was given. I don't know if there are different ones out there.
Thanks for sharing all of the fun ultrasound pictures!! It's amazing that you can see so much of your little girl in there - how fun! I still have a few more weeks until our big sonogram where we find out if we're having a boy or a girl. I can hardly wait! And great job for putting on weight - my job is to lose some - which I did - a whole three pounds since my last visit (I had to go in for labs today). Looking forward to hearing about more baby girl stuff from you!
Aww the pics are so cute. I could listen the baby stories and look a pics until the cows come home and not be tired of it. So keep the pregger posts coming! (that's my opinion anyway)
What a precious little girl. So sweet! I can't WAIT to hear what you name her!
She really is cute! I have my u/s on Monday and can't wait for a "sneak peak". And also the reassurance that everything is ok (which I'm sure it is). I've been gaining/growing more slowly this pregnancy, so I've been worried that that might indicate something wrong.
As for the glucose test, I can't keep the stuff down. So I declined it last time and probably will this time unless they find sugar or protein in my urine which can be a warning sign. But it does taste like really thick lemon lime drink or fruit punch. If you have to do the 3 hour, it tastes like slightly flat sprite.
Wonderful baby pix! She looks so sweet already. Keep 'em comin'!
The glucose stuff isn't toooo bad. At least there isn't much of it. In our area, they offer cola or orange flavor. Unanimously, pregnant women everywhere say, "Choose Orange!"
Um, where are the bathroom pics???
Nice sono shots. Isn't it amazing what they can do with ultrasound?
