Goodies

Yesterday when I got home from work there were 2 packages sitting on the front step. I love when boxes are sitting on the front porch. Especially when they say my name on them. Both of these did!

The "welcome to pregnancy" packet that my doctor gave me at my first appointment had a card in it exclusively for residents of our county. If I were to call a number and give them my information I would receive some free baby formula. I figured free was good, so I called the number and left my information a few weeks ago. Yesterday I got a lot more than I bargained for!
This is the case of formula. Yes, the case. You can't see it, but it says there are "48 - 2 FL OZ Nursette Units" in that box.

Let me show you...
The picture in the upper left is what comes in each box...there are 6 of those in each box.

And here's how many boxes I got... 8!

So, that box on the front porch was for baby girl. Hopefully I won't need any of this, but if I do it sure is nice to know it's there. It expires May 2010. If I don't use it I'm sure there will be others who can!

The other box on the front porch was for me! I had ordered a few maternity shirts from OldNavy.com. I'm not much of an in-store shopper. I prefer mostly to shop online unless I'm with my friends or family. I don't go shopping alone because I get bored.

So, here is the contents of my Old Navy package... one sweater, 2 long-sleeved shirts, and a white ribbed tank to wear under all of this. I'm currently wearing the blue item pictured...it has a hood and I love it!

We went to Costco last night and I "FoodSaved" once again...this time only some pork chops. D & I bought some steaks to grill for Valentine's Day which is our annual tradition. He grills steaks and I make the side dishes. The day before Valentine's Day, D takes me to The Melting Pot for dinner and dessert. We have reservations for tomorrow night and I'm very excited. I signed up for their "Club Fondue" which means I get coupons for free chocolate fondue on my birthday and sometimes "just because". Yesterday I took an online survey for The Melting Pot and they gave me a coupon for a free chocolate fondue for that!

What's your Valentine's Day tradition?

Before I go, I have to show you what I saw hanging on my cubicle when I got to work today...
Isn't that sweet? I have yet to find out who the culprit is, but I'm very touched that someone would go to the trouble to do this for me.

I'm 20 weeks today! Baby girl is about the size of a banana, head to toe. She's making meconium. On the ultrasound we saw her opening and closing her mouth and the u/s tech said she was drinking the fluid! It was so fascinating. I don't know how anyone could justify killing a baby in the womb who is so obviously alive, even early on. I'm all about a human being's right to choose, but not when it interferes with another human being's right to live.

Have a great Thursday - I know I will!

That is a lot of formula - how nice.

Your cube looks so cute. I would never want to take that down - looks like you have fun co-workers.

I always give the formula to the food bank (unless I know a mom formula feeding). They can usually use it. I take the freebies because I loathe how formula companies try to undermine breastfeeding (so they can get you to buy their super expensive product) and I figure I can at least cost them some money! They'll send you checks as well for $$$ off of formula. If you use them, they start sending you smaller and smaller ones until you get none. But I always give those away too. Might as well save someone else some money!

Formula companies pretty much stop at nothing in order to recruit new consumers. Cute Old Navy clothes!!

Wow! Look at all that formula! I love shopping online too. I think its because I really like to have a package waiting for me when I get home from work!

So nice of your co-workers to decorate and be so happy for you! Just wait 'til they SEE the baby...
